FEMALES BREAKING BARRIERS AND INSPIRING A NEW GENERATION WOMEN TO PURSUE THEIR PASSION FEARLESSLY


The three performers in the Cultural Fest of IGDTUW, Taarangana 2023, Niti Mohan, Ankita Arya and Gurleen Pannu are impeccable examples of females breaking barriers with their electrifying energy and undeniable talent. They don’t just entertain crowds but inspire a new generation of women to pursue their passions fearlessly.

After nine massively successful editions, the cultural extravaganza of IGDTUW, Taarangana, returns on the 15th & 16th of April 2023 with its 10th edition – Taarangana’23. IGDTUW is the first all-women engineering university in South Asia, which aims to empower women in technology and management and foster an environment for excellence. 

Taarangana, the annual cultural fest of IGDTUW, is a spectacle to behold, which witnesses a gathering of zealous students from various colleges across the city who meet, mingle, and share artistic and intellectual interests while making precious memories.

Team Taarangana conducted its inaugural for Taarangana’23 in the IGDTUW Auditorium on 13 April 2023. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Amita Dev graced the stage for the inaugural event of Taarangana, the cultural extravaganza, to address and encourage the organizing committee, all attendees, and participants. The music and dance societies of IGDTUW, Tarannum, and Hypnotics elated everyone with their enthralling performances. 

“The mission of Taaranagana is to enable students to devote some time to their personal and social development, thus encouraging them to explore their interests and create a broader perspective toward life. This year, Taarangana is celebrating ten years of its legendary legacy with the theme Querencia, a momentous voyage glistening a decade.” Said Dr Amita Dev, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, IGDTUW.

The event witnessed a footfall of about 10K, encompassing students from various universities like IIITD, NSUT, DTU, DU, and many more. Enthralling the audience with various events like Miss & Mr. Taarangana, Aaghaz, Alaap, Urban Thump & Rangmanch, giving the students of various colleges them to showcase their talents in different cultural domains.

Our sponsors, BeReal, Meet7, Indraprastha Gas Limited, Hero Motors, Clovia, etc. extended their constant and encouraging support for the grand success of this cultural event. The flow of the events was carried gracefully by the emcees, GD Sayal and Sagar Duggal. Various known personalities like REBEL7, Ritu Singh, Amit Tiwari, Jasika, and many more graced the stage with their presence and judged different events. 

Apart from the prime events, there are various fun events, like Blind Dating, Minute to Win It, Murder Mystery, Tied & Tried, Da Vinci Hunt, and many more that are sure to brim you with lots of fun & truckloads of happiness. Guest performers, Samarth Chandhoke and Kartik Shukla, filled day 1 of Taarangana with innumerable joy by showcasing their enchanting performances. Samarth, a musical artist, has previously performed in packed venues such as Boho Bazaar and the Horn OK Fest. On the other hand, Kartik, a splendid comedian with his first major gig in IGDTUW itself, will come full circle with his recent performance.

The evening started with comedian, Gurleen Pannu, the first runner-up of Comicstaan’s third season, which left everyone in splits. The comic show was followed by DJ Ankita Arya, who truly made us all shake our legs with her rocking turntables. In conclusion, Day 1 of Taarangana, ended on a happy note, leaving the attendees with lots of memorable moments. Day 2 of Taarangana’23 was graced by the enchanting and sensational Neeti Mohan. With her melodious blend of classical and contemporary styles, she won all hearts. Her power-packed performances and versatile vocal range along with her magnetic stage presence and infectious energy left our audience spellbound

All the three are impeccable examples of females breaking barriers with their electrifying energy and undeniable talent. They don’t just entertain crowds but inspire a new generation of women to pursue their passions fearlessly.

In conclusion, the two days of Taarangana, ended on a happy note, leaving the attendees with lots of memorable moments.
