New Delhi : Complimenting India Trade Promotion Organisation (lTPO) and its associate the Federation of Indian Publishcrstl-Il’) for holding the zt11 edition of Delhi Book Fair2023 and its allied events , Smt. Mcenakashi Lekhi, the Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Government of India pointed out,’ the books are indispensable for overall ‘ empowerment of the next generation and would remain relevant in digital age too especially when the new age children have been facing lot of aberration”. There is an outstanding contribution of our holy scriptures and research in nation building’ After inaugurating the fairs, the Minister took a round and evinced keen interest in a wide range books and stationery items.
Present on the occasion were Shri Ramesh K. Mittal, President, FIP, Dr.Anupama Bhatnagar, Director General, Publication Division, Ministry of Information and roadcasting, Ms Hema Maity, General Manager, ITPO, Shri Naveen Gupta, Treasurer, FIP, Shri Brij Lal, GM, and Shri Krishan Kumar ,DGM,ITPO, participants and media persons.
Speaking on the occasion, She expressed her happiness over the theme of the fair” Books in Nation Building”. Books and scripture such as the holy Vedas, Purans, are the vital source of propagation of India’s ancient wisdom which has made a mark on global arena”, She added.
In his key note address, Shri Ramesh K. Mittal, President, FIP informed that the 2th edition of Delhi Book Fair assumed special significance for FIP as it coincides with the Golden Jubilee celebration of the federation. Next edition of the Delhi Book Fair would be organised with enhanced size and stature.
In her welcome address Ms. Hema Maity, GM, ITPO highlighted the salient features of the fair. Vote of thanks was proposed by Shri Krishan Kumar, DGM, ITPO.
