New Delhi : The India Trade Promotion Organisation deserves all appreciation as this fair edition has been organised with larger participation than the previous edition. Every year, IITF is growing in size and scale, and it is hoped that the next editions of such events will be held with record participation as Hall No.2 and Hall No.6 will be ready by that time. ITPO is consistently delivering IITF as a world-class event stated out by the Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India Shri Piyush Goyal, inaugurating the 41st edition of the IITF of ITPO at a well-attended function held at Hall 5 of the New Exhibition Hall of International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, today. Shri Piyush Goyal also emphasized on the saying of our Prime Minister “Speed is ambition, scale is a strength of India”.
Present on the occasion were Shri Som Parkash, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, Mrs Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, Shri Sunil Barthwal, Commerce Secretary, Govt. of India, Shri K.N.Balagopal, Minister of Finance, Govt. of Kerala, Shri Durga Shanker Mishra, Chief Secy. Govt. of UP Shri Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, Minister-In-Charge, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Govt. of Jharkhand, Shri Uday Samant, Minister of Industries, Govt. of Maharashtra and Shri Alok Kumar, Director, Upendra Maharathi Shilp Anusandhan Sansthan, Bihar, Shri Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and Managing Director, ITPO and Shri Vibhu Nayar, Executive Director, ITPO, foreign delegates, participants and media persons.
Shri Piyush Goyal commended ITPO and all other stakeholders for providing an ideal platform to the industry, especially to start-ups, women entrepreneurs and rural artisans. He indicated that IECC would also be a unique symbol of ‘New India’ as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. He has also suggested that ITPO should organize two fairs in a year i.e. in May/June and the name may be given as “Swadeshi Mela” and in this Mela, the booth should be given at reasonable rates.
Mrs Anupriya Patel also highlighted the scheme of ODOP i.e. one district one product. ODOP is seen as a transformational step towards realizing the true potential of a district, fuelling economic growth, generating employment and rural entrepreneurship, and taking us to the goal of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. She also commended that IITF has carved a niche for itself in the global calendar besides occupying a position of eminence in the Asian continent. Now in a record, the 41st annual edition of the fair is a huge milestone in itself especially when the country is celebrating its ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ – the 75th year of India’s Independence.
This year, “Vocal for Local and Local to Global” is the theme of the fair as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister to achieve the goal of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India). It holds enormous promises to the global business fraternity and could radically transform the Asian Economy. It aims to infuse certain renewed confidence and vigour in the Indian Economy.
In his welcome address, Shri Pradeep Singh Kharola, CMD, ITPO, highlighted the salient features of IITF 2022 (November 14-27). He said that ITPO has made extensive efforts to improve the overall experience of participation for the exhibitors and visitors alike. ITPO has introduced a transparent online system for booking stalls and other services, online registration for dignitaries during the first five days, a mobile application for the fair and LED screens for the display of information. He also appealed to all the stakeholders to put their best foot forward to make this grand event a success.
The fair is open for Business Visitors from November 14 to 18, 2022, while all the visitors can visit the fair from November 19 to 27, 2022. Apart from the New Exhibition complex, the fair has been organised in Halls 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 12A. This time on 27th November, the fair will be open till 4.30 PM. There will be no sale of tickets at any of the Pragati Maidan Gates and Supreme Court Metro Station/Pragati Maidan Metro Station.
The Public/Visitors are advised to cooperate and plan their visit by purchasing tickets in advance from their originating Metro Stations and online through the ITPO portal, i.e., www.indiatradefair.com.
